ALLorNotAtAll exists to make sure that the constitutional rights of every citizen is protected by educating the public about the facts regarding marriage equality. We will also be reaching out to explain the great harm that inequality fosters…from bullying that results in suicide to outright abuse and murder, we will demonstrate why marriage equality is essential to maintaining the fabric of society. We will do this through education and outreach and our primary tool will be the truth.
HISTORY
ALL or Not At All was founded in the immediate wake of the passage of Prop. 8. Founder, Josh Einsohn, spent the day after the election feeling sad…devastated, even. That night, he went to a rally in West Hollywood to find comfort amongst friends and a grieving community. He went home, angry at himself for having sat too quietly on the sidelines even though he could tell the campaign was a loser. We had been beaten by outright lies and the most horrible, cruel kind of fear-mongering. It could not be allowed to happen again.

The next morning, he took a shower and had an idea: ALLorNotAtAll.org. (One of his favorite quotes: “Everyone who has ever taken a shower has had an idea. It’s the person who gets out of the shower, dries off, and does something about it that makes a difference.”) He had a background in the entertainment industry and knew that there were a number of people who were stunned at the loss and looking for something to work on…looking for a way to get involved to make sure that this could never happen again.
Since then, Josh and the Board of ALL or Not At All have worked tirelessly to produce and raise money to get Public Service Announcements on the air. While other grassroots groups have come and gone, ALL or Not At All remains fully-committed to continuing the push to educate California about marriage equality. Regardless of what happens at the ballot box or in the courts, people also need to understand why marriage equality, and all other human rights, are so important for the GLBT community in California as well as the rest of the country.
